So freaking excited to share this with you all! Its going to be an intense short film. Very proud of the dynamic cast and how much work they have put into it! We will be doing the final touches soon and will be releasing the full short film in August 2015
Its been a crazy week for me! I just finished "The Secrets We Hide" filming wise. Now, editing and voice over work. And now this week is filled with more surprises!
SEDGWICK & RUSSELL
So I started classes at last week! I was super excited to start this class with Catherine Russell who has been working on and off broadway for around 28 years and Rob Sedgwick, from several shows and films including one of my favorite franchises "Die Hard". I've already done two classes and am thoroughly enjoying myself! Its really nice to get back into the swing of things and really be immersed in the acting side of life again. I took this class primarily to brush up on all the things that I learned long ago in college and while doing community theater. For actors who want to try this class out. Its 6 weeks and their curriculum is very tight. I recommend going in with taking it as an acting 101 course. Rob and Cathy really work with you on beats, intention and what I've really dug is how they break down monologues. At first, I was a little confused with the reasoning behind it but as I saw the improvement myself and others in the class, I quickly realized "Oh!" I had never heard someone break down a monologue in the way they do.
I just had orientation for The Actors Project NYC this Monday. I'm not going to lie, I'm super excited but a little scared. Its a tough and rigorous curriculum that will be challenging. Since I am coming in at the end of the month, I will need to attend two classes before this month is up and memorize a monologue pretty much over night. They do have monologues online that you can purchase and choose from in advance. Which is what I am doing since I have such limited time. I haven't taken a class yet but I will keep you updated on these. A friend of mine Brittanie Sheree told me she worked with them on one season and loved it! Got inquiriese right away and is planning on doing their 34th Season with me. Right now, in Season 33, I am taking the class with my good friend Amey Goetz, who is relatively new to acting! (But You'd never know it!)
The TAPNYC boasts about getting over 75% of their performers work with agents, casting directors and managers. They treat classes seriously and from what I can tell, are no joke! They also say "You get what you put into it." Which I feel is like most things anyway! Again will keep you updated on this!
Just filmed my big scene today for "The Secrets We Hide" A Short Film featuring a 90% female Cast. This ghost story has a few twists that you wont see coming!
Cannot wait to post more about it and the actual film itself!
Well, I didn't make it past Round 2 but I met some incredible people and made a few friends! I am so excited to get started on other projects as well! Life here in the last 8 months has been a whirl wind of amazing shows and constructive experiences. I learned so much by watching the great talent in this show and used it like a Cabaret Intensive and got to perform some of my favorite songs. Currently I am working on a new Cabaret Show with a girl Brittanie Sheree, whom I met doing this show. We are going to create a sketch comedy Cabaret and perform it soon, hopefully at this venue!
So stay tuned for more fun things! For now, here is my video from that night. There is a bit of shaky camera in here and a nice shot of my boobs! (Thanks to my boyfriend...lol)
The Preliminary round was tough! Everyone was so freaking talented! And I'm not just saying that. I really wasn't sure if I was going to get into the next round because of how freaking talented everyone was. That being said...lol... I did make it along with a few other people I know, who are not only amazing performers but really wonderful people.
If you get a chance to check them out please do! Brittanie Sheree and Amorika Amoroso
I got to sing one of my favorite songs that meant so much to me when I was younger.
If you want to hear the story that lead me to this song, it will be listed at the bottom of the page, for now, Here is the video of me performing "If I Were a Boy" by Beyonce Knowles
I'm a woman of all trades. Love what I do and I do what I love.
