This is a very different role than what I am used to being cast as, and I am so glad that I got to do it! Normally, I play the tough chick but this time I play the scared next door neighbor to a bad man!
I am not able to show the whole short film since they are still doing things with it but I got permission to show my clips from the film.
Hope you enjoy! And thanks for watching!
A Blast in a half! New York keeps bringing me work and I love it!
I was apart of a spectacular show called "Puberty Camp!" A Cabaret Show. I feel so thankful to have had the opportunity to work as much as I have since coming to New York. Its been a real treat and as I go on my journey with finding my place in this crazy wild city I will continue to film it all...lol...
Here the video's from my performance!
I got to sing an amazing song about knowing its "Okay not to be okay". Jessie J's song "Who You Are" not only fit perfectly into the show but pushed me to stretch my vocal range into an area that I haven't sung in a while. With the help with my new vocal Coach Michael Pesce, we worked on not only the technical aspects of the song but the deeper emotional connection to song. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed singing!
Fun little fact about this song "Blessings" Originally written by Allen Scott. I was not supposed to sing this song in the show. There was a person who dropped out and I got asked to sing. I love this song about asking your parents to accept apart of you. The song deals with the specifics of being gay and asking your parents for their blessing. An emotional and touching song which can also be relatable (I think) on any topic) I sing this with the talented Sal Real of Moon Owl Productions.
As a "pubescent teen" in the show, I got the chance to "experiment" with the talented Annie Woo as her bi curious girl friend. The song "I Kissed a Girl" was a lot of fun to sing and act too! And I felt captured the idea of what its like to experiment and be young.
I'm a woman of all trades. Love what I do and I do what I love.
