I had a great time this week on Tuesday February 10th, 2015 on Movie Talks at the Free Speech Studio in Brooklyn, NY.
Interviewers Carrie and Leslie were inviting and the other guests on the show were extremely talented filmmakers, producers, directors and actors.
During my interview we talked about my acting career, where I want to go with it while here in New York. Playing darker more sinister characters like: Evil Queen, Magical characters, Druggies, Psychos', the girl who's just a little off; and of course as I get more into shape: The gun toting, bow and arrow carrying badass, to name a few.
We also talked about my filmmaking and Diabla Productions! It was great. Specifically, Puppet People our latest: Dark Comedy Musical and a bit about the new show set to start shooting in Late August, Early September.
I cannot wait until the show airs, I will let you know as soon as I hear info about it!
Until then, keep your nose clean and your feet warm in this wintery weather!

I had a blast yesterday watching myself walk in the background in one of the scenes in "Mysteries of Laura". Its so fun to see the final product after a long day of walking around and interacting with people. I have to say though, I met a great group of people on this shoot and was placed in front of the camera quite a bit! lol... I hope one day, I can be the Principal that an extra is looking past and saying "Hey! Look at me! I was in between Molly Gazay and Kate Mulgrew!" Until then, I will do some extra work sporadically to make some cash and play where is Waldo, cause its fun!
Okay, I was being slightly sarcastic in my title here, so bear with me. As some or all of you know, while I was in Seattle, my boyfriend(Sean) and I, made a web series "Puppet People" with some amazingly talented people. It was a great experience and I am so thankful for it.
Now! That being said... The filming was a blast, getting all the stuff together and seeing it come to life while people are acting it out was incredible, however some things lead to us having to modify the show a bit.
What ended up happening was:
We needed to do an Episode 1, which we had but I wanted to create a whole new beginning, that way the story made more sense and due to that, all the episodes at the beginning were jumbled up, making some footage from the Alpha Episode 1 now Beta Episode 2 and so on. This lead to the episodes being mixed up. Episode 5 footage is now Episode 6 footage. Episode's 8-11 fortunately are the same since the decision to create a new Episode 1 was brought forth before the filming of 8-11 but still, you see where the frustration and dilemma is.
In addition, half of the audio files that were recorded didn't break up into the individual shots, so now I am in the process of sifting through to find the right audio takes.
lol... Its a great project and its coming along splendidly just taking a bit longer due to these complications.
Why am I telling you all of this?
Because I am learning from this experience and I hope to pass along this knowledge to those who are creating their own projects.
MY ADVICE ON THIS SUBJECT
1. Label everything correctly
2. Double check before editing that everything is labeled correctly
3. We had people helping out on set doing audio or lighting or holding a puppet because this was volunteer show. We were extremely lucky to have people so dedicated to working on this show. So, If you are in the same boat and don't have a designated audio person who knows the in's and out's of how to break down the audio clips, be as detailed as you can be, especially about stopping the recorder after the director says "cut"...lol...
4. Double check that the stand in audio tech knows to stop the recorder after the director says "Cut"
5. Mistakes will happen and that is what learning is all about. And by proxy, what art is all about, just roll with the punches and never give up!
